Sometime over the weekend the ML160 rack stopped getting power. The video switch, which feeds the Mac in the back of ML038 reverted to its default input. The proper setting has been restored and the video podcasts on iTunes U should start showing up. We removed the files from Monday and Tuesday; they were a blue screen, a watermark, and the proper audio. The audio is still available on iTunes U and under the TeleTeachingTool heading of lectures.osumc.edu.
Due to the change of schedule for the review sessions today, the iTunesU lectures may not line up with the actual events in ML160. Please see the lectures under the TeleTeachingTool heading of lectures.osumc.edu if this is an issue.
The microphone was muted in the auditorium today so the lecture “Brainstem – Nuclear Organization” has no audible audio. This lecture appears under the Med1 – Class of -2012 heading on lectures.osumc.edu as “2009_04_21″
After the vendor demonstration and the follow up survey about the different software packages available, the CoM will be renewing the Lexi-Comp site license. Please ignore any messages that indicate your license is expiring as it will be renewed before the end of April. There will be more information forthcoming.
Dear Class of 2012,
As you probably know we had some issues recording the lectures with Podcast Capture this week (the application which handles the recordings that eventually populate iTunes U). Yesterday we thought we had the problem solved. As it turned out there were two issues and we only fixed one of them. The capture card on the ML112 recording machine had failed and needed reset. The result: this morning’s lecture failed to record. To top it off, when the afternoon MSK review session was posted (TeleTeachingTool) it had the same filename as the morning lecture from ML112, essentially erasing the previous lecture.. The files had the same name since they were recorded on different machines (one in ML112, the other in ML160). Now, the morning lecture was posted for about 34 minutes before we overwrote it, so someone in the class may have a good copy, if so, we would like to hear from you so we can repost it for everyone and posterity’s sake. Leave a comment or send an email to prior.help@osumc.edu.
We will be adding the lessons from these incidents (and others to which you alerted us) to our documentation for improving the system for the future.
The Podcast Capture script failed for these lectures today. We are looking for debugging information pertaining to the alarm not starting. The lectures will be available under the TeleTeachingTool heading on lectures.osumc.edu.
UPDATE – 20100406-1237
We overlooked the Location information in the iCal event and this is why the scheduled recordings have failed so far this week. This becomes the Album information on iTunes and the script expects something to be there. It has been added to tomorrow’s 0830 class and the 1400 review session in ML160. Many apologies for the inconvenience. The days lectures can only be found under the TeleTeachingTool section of lectures.osumc.edu.
They MSK lectures missing from yesterday, 20100322, are located under the Med 2 – Class of 2011 heading on lectures.osumc.edu. They are:
The lectures posted to iTunes U were recorded from ML160 and have been removed. The TeleTeachingTool lectures have been moved to the proper folder on lectures.osumc.edu, Med 1 – Class of 2013. Only the TTT lectures are posted as the iTunes U lectures were silent and had the wrong content (if any).
